POCKET LETTERS are so cool... Swappity Swap Swap (last Lists)

So today I feel like I am JOINING ALL THE THINGS. One of the lovely Iggles have got me onto these cool things called Pocket Letters.

Found HERE
As someone who wants to receive stuff in the mail that is NOT bills, I like the idea of having a ton of pen pals. But I'm going to have to try and refrain from having ALL the PENPALS. If you want to join I've met some really nice ladies through the Facebook group. All the information can be found HERE!

I can't wait to make some geeky and not so geeky sleeves of pretty things.

Found HERE
Other than this, the geek community is saddened today by the loss of Leonard Nemoy. I was also saddened by how few people in my office knew who he was. Maybe this geeky lady needs to find new work compatriots LOL. But until that point I will be remember the man for the legacy that he left. Let us not be saddened by his loss but rejoice in all he has given us.

May you always Live Long and Prosper Mr. Nemoy.

And now for the last of my lists:

Day 27: Encouragement for House Granger

1) You can do anything you want to do.
2) The world is your playground (how cliche can I get)
3) This too shall pass.
4) Highschool isn't the end... those who do the best in highschool do not always do the best in life. A balance of fun and serious is needed for personal success.
5) Be happy! Don't let others let you down.
6) Math is fun... say it with me "Math IS FUN!"

Day 28: To Do MARCH

1) Survive another month.
2) Get all my pen pals and swaps (Geeky and otherwise) out to their recipients.
3) Sleep when I can.
4) Truely enjoy spending time with my kids.
5) Continue embracing my loves so that they flourish.

Bonus: Things I learned from the Heroes I grew up with

1) You Can Do It!
2) Knowing is half the battle.
3) A little bit can go a long way.
4) Don't let the ground hit you on the way down.
5) Put one foot in front of the other and soon you'll be walking 'cross the floor. Put one foot in front of the other and soon you'll be walking out the door.
6) Good things can happen to bad people just as Bad things can happen to Good people. It's what you do afterwards that counts.
7) Never give up, never stop swimming.

So Until Monday (being my weekends are a little nuts)
Keep on Geekin' on big world!

James Gunn Rocks... and other cool stuff. (and a list lol)

So today I found an awesome response by James Gunn in relation to the Oscars and their snubbing of the big box comic movies. I believe in everything that he said. Any medium (big or small) will have people putting just as much heart and emotion in it... as well as those using those mediums for personal gain. I have never felt the Oscars were a fair assessment of the talent used in film making or those associated with films. Why should the only films recognized be the most obtrusive, film festival, or dramatic genres?? How come there is such a divide in the industry...??

Found HERE
Well here's James Gunn's Response:

I didn't really find the Jack Black superhero jokes offensive, did you guys? It was, like, a joke. I'm not sure if you guys noticed, but the writing on the Oscars didn't seem to be all that well thought out.
As far as Dan Gilroy saying that attendees of the Independent Spirit Awards have survived against a "tsunami of superhero films" - well it seems a bit weird coming from a guy whose wife has acted in two Thor films - really, that seems like you've drowned horribly in that tsunami. But I know I just kind of make up stuff as I go along on these awards shows, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
Whatever the case, the truth is, popular fare in any medium has always been snubbed by the self-appointed elite. I've already won more awards than I ever expected for Guardians. What bothers me slightly is that many people assume because you make big films that you put less love, care, and thought into them then people do who make independent films or who make what are considered more serious Hollywood films.
I've made B-movies, independent films, children's movies, horror films, and gigantic spectacles. I find there are plenty of people everywhere making movies for a buck or to feed their own vanity. And then there are people who do what they do because they love story-telling, they love cinema, and they want to add back to the world some of the same magic they've taken from the works of others. In all honesty, I do no find a strikingly different percentage of those with integrity and those without working within any of these fields of film.
If you think people who make superhero movies are dumb, come out and say we're dumb. But if you, as an independent filmmaker or a "serious" filmmaker, think you put more love into your characters than the Russo Brothers do Captain America, or Joss Whedon does the Hulk, or I do a talking raccoon, you are simply mistaken.

Found on his Facebook account.

*Slow Clap*

As any comic fan arguing over beloved characters can attest too, comics come from a love and passion just a fierce (if not scary at times) as any "Serious" filmaker's love of their art. Most recent Comic Directors have a love of the medium, character and genre.

But I digress... Here's something cool!

Found HERE
I haven't read a lot of Manga or watched a lot of Anime in comparison with others I know. But I do like most of the Studio Ghibli stuff and the fact that I could get this cute, and slightly understated sweater is just awesome. If I could get understated Comic-y Clothing and Fan stuff, that was work appropriate. I would probably wear it all the time. That's it! Someone needs to make stuff for the Office Geek... Professionally Geeky Clothing!

Oky so off to my list!

Day 26: Iggles you should meet!
There's only one answer appropriate... ALL of them! I have had such an amazing time recently getting to know a group of Iggles from different houses through Twitter and online. I have been making new connections and new friends. It's such an amazing feeling getting to know people who have similar interests to you.

If you don't know what an IGGLE is then you need to go HERE!!!!

Well that's all for tonight.
Keep on Geekin' On!

Some cool things (and a list... 3 days left)

So for our Wednesday Addams day, between working and taking brakes I managed to find some pretty cool geeky things online today.

First off here's our Ode to Wednesday!
Found Here
Like most Gothy, Punky or just alternative little girls (meaning any girl not in love with Pink and Frills) we all loved Wednesday Addams. Instead of embracing my inner Bitch (as some are want to say) I'm embracing my inner Wednesday. Now wouldn't it be cool to have an Addams Family Movie with the Characters at the age they are now?? I wonder if Christina Ricci would actually be willing to play her iconic role or if , as some actors express, she doesn't like the character. I would love to see how she feels about being such a cult classic.

On another note.

When I was a kid I never read Lord of the Rings. As a confession, I own the books (and the Movies) but I have never managed to read through the novels. I have no problem with dry or descriptive writing, and it may be because I watched the movies first, but I have never connected to the books the way some have. I have, however, always loved Dune. Do not watch the old Sting movie if you love the books. But if you are looking for a pretty good movie-ish adaptation I would totally suggest the Mini Series.
Found Here
The did Dune (where they combined Dune and the Messiah of Dune) and the Children of Dune (which is the next book of the same name) in mini series. Both are pretty close (for a mini series) and have enough of the original feel to it that I like them.

Well today I found this:
Found Here
All I can say is "The Mystery of life isn't a problem to solve, but a reality to experience." Well we've experienced Gummy Dune now!!!

Another thing today was this:
Found Here
With a note saying there will be a big announcement in 8 days... seriously?? I have to wait 8 days??? That's like TORTURE!! But I'll manage to take a deep breath and survive. Once announced I'm sure we'll talk about it here.

Now for a List:

Day 25: Least Favourite Words

1) You can't do that!
2) Intolerance
3) Rudeness.
4) Bro
5) Man (as hey man)
6) Wazzup
7) Cancelled

Well, on to another Geeky Night!
Keep on Geekin' on.

Excitement over a Poster... and a list.

Look at this poster:

From HERE

I like that you have the Heroes, no gratuitous but picture from Blackwidow and we can see Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch in the back. Now I'm not 100% sure I care about the Ultron story line but I am interested to see how they do it and what they change from it. I'm not totally sad that Ant Man won't be in this one, but I kinda hope they add Wasp to the Ant Man series.

I'm also looking forward to more Science Brothers stuff from Bruce Banner and Tony Stark.

This weekend I'm actually thinking of going to see Jupiter Ascending.
from HERE
I know it has very mixed reviews, but I believe if you go into a movie with low expectations then all you can do is be pleasantly surprised or at least not disappointed. I'll let you know what I think on Monday.

But for now here's my Day 24 list. Only a few more days left.

Inspire:

1) Laurell K Hamilton (because her methods always inspire me)
2) Jessica Nigri (I hope to be able to make stuff as well as she does)
3) My Dad (because who's dad isn't inspiration)
4) Pinterest! Cause there is so much talent out there.

So until next time,
Keep on Geeking on.

Stationary and Lists

So, with the joys of getting some awesome geeky penpals and doing some fun Geeky swaps I've decided that I should try my hand at creating my own stationery. I haven't actually managed it yet but I am currently looking for any clipart or ideas to pull from to create these stationeries.

I thought the above one was cute. I found it online HERE and thought it was nice that it had lines as well as the little decals. I'm wondering if I want to print some at the standard sizes (which is smaller than the 8 1/2 x 11 paper size) or if I should just print them at letter size.

Once I get a few made (and maybe shipped) I'll post them on here for all to view.

But for now, it has been a busy weekend so today will be mostly lists:

Day 21: Guilty Pleasures

1) Chip and Dip... Philadelphia Onion Dip Only!
2) Candy! Fuzzy peached, cherry blasters, you name it.
3) Buying hardcover books... nothing is the same.
4) Dolls.... anything that's a little bit different.
5) Pop music even though I'm a little bit goth, little bit punk.

Day 22: Dream Space

1) A clean desk space
2) Organized crafts
3) A great drafting table that DOESN'T double as a desk.
4) Separate bedrooms for my girls

Day 23: Encouragement for House Quinn (age 18 to 22)

1) Fall in love
2) Don't fall so far you loose yourself
3) Have fun
4) Know that you look amazing! That you are AMAZING! No matter what.
5) Be confident, not bitchy.
6) Know your worth is greater than you think.
7) You have all the time in the world for kids and marriage, you don't need to rush.
8) Stop, Breath and Enjoy RIGHT NOW... no NOW.... and NOW.

Well Until next time!

Cosplay, and Aquaman, and a List.

Today I was reading this awesome Cosplay Article , I think everyone should read it and stop the hate. I doesn't matter what size, race, anything you are... cosplay who you like, how you like!

I got the above image from the article (here's the link a second time!). I think this needs to be made into shirts. I would totally buy one!!! This NEEDS to be a thing.

On another note, although I'm not a big DC fan I always see pretty much any comic related movie I can find (I'm sure I've missed some, but I've seen most). I have had my reservations of new Batman VS Superman movie coming out. Not that I think Ben Affleck can't play a good Batman, but I just can't picture it. I've never thought of him as Batman.... maybe another character, don't know what... but not Batman. I really don't mind the new Superman though, he's got the right look and feel to him; Maybe not a boyscoutish as the original but that's perfectly fine with me. Well today they released something interesting. I guess they are gearing Batman VS Superman as a lead up to the Justice League... well look at this!
Found HERE
Isn't he pretty. I love Jason Momoa and as Aquaman I think this just might work. Aquaman (for all his 80 version faults) could be a pretty cool character.

And now a list:

Day 20: Fears Conquered.

1) Spiders and Snakes: I used to not like anything crawly, but after owning a few snakes I'm not so bad anymore.
2) Having Kids.... cause kids are scary
3) Accepting my own likes as being good enough
4) Standing up for myself

Well I hope you all have a great weekend.
Keep on Geekin' On

Movies and Cosplays and Lists Oh My!

So with all the hype of the horrors of 50 Shades of Grey I've been thinking a lot about movies. I am an avid superhero movie fan... Any super hero movie. I have watched and own my fair share (mainly marvel related) and even though I may complain profusely about a portrayal or destruction of a loved character (*cough* Halley Berry as Storm *cough*) I still will pay my money to watch it and then buy them so that I can watch them over and over again.

Found on Geek and Sundry
With Marvel and Spider-man being friends again. I'm very looking forward to the further Marvel Cinematic Universe and where it will be going. What I don't like, in any franchise, is this need to glorify destructive relationships. What I've been loving about Marvel lately is that they don't NEED to have the female characters in a relationship, or have any romantic yearnings and ties with any of their male counterparts. I am not one of the saying that I need equal number of female to male superhero characters, but I am liking so far what they are doing. It will be interesting as the franchise grows what characters they will pull from the comic-verse and how they will be portrayed in the cinematic universe. So until that time that they come to theaters I guess I just have to sit and wait patiently, a trait I have never said I was strong at.

I think part of my anticipation for further characters has to do with my wish to get involved further in Cosplay. I love Cosplay. My favourite holiday has always been Halloween because I can dress up, and Cosplay allows me to dress up more than once a year, for multiple days, in multiple costumes. I am currently working on some stuff for Fan Expo in Toronto this September. Slowly they will come together, and as normal I probably won't have as much as I'd like due to money and time constraints... but you have to start somewhere.

Here's something funny I saw on Geek Girls:
Found Here

This made me laugh... because it's true. I have never tried the torture of Coloured Contacts (I may in time) but most of the rest of it I have done for either Halloween or Con's. The Dying from Heat Stroke and Not Sitting Down have been regular occurrences.

Well here's my list for Day 19: Encouragement for House GlaDos:

I hope any of those from House GlaDos or anyone in the age ranges of 23 to 29 take some or all the advise those at House Organa have been giving... I think the gist is BE YOURSELF and Don't let anyone make you feel that that is not good enough!.

Until next time
Keep on Geekin' on.

A Pottermore Experience... Day 18 of List

So today on Iggle chat through Twitter we were talking about which house would you be if you were at Hogwarts.

Found HERE
So I looked around and couldn't find a good quiz to take to see what I should be. After asking around to a few geeky Potter fan friends on Twitter I decided to go with the Pottermore test. Now be aware, the Pottermore site isn't like most Quizzes, it is actually a large program that allows for character play, leveling up and gaining house points. To start you have to get your familiar (I'm always disappointed that they only allow Cats, Owls and Toads) I chose the colourful frog/toad being I'm not a big Cat fan. Then you do a little quiz to get your wand (Mine is made of Laurel and a Unicorn Hair... not too bad I guess), once all that is done then off to the Sorting Hat.

After answering a bunch of questions I got GRYFFINDOR. Now I'm not sure how I feel about that. It's fairly suitable but I feel that I have an inner rebellious streak that I don't WANT to be in the same house as the main characters. Part of me wants to be different... against the grain. When reviewing the other three houses I realize that I definitely don't suit Ravenclaw. I'm not that into Wit and Wisdom I guess LOL. Then I looked at Hufflepuff... and although I value Loyalty and Hard Work, I guess I'm a little lax on the fair play and definitely low on the patience, so I guess that doesn't work either. Finally I'm at Slytherin... now I don't really like their methods but the reasoning house values aren't so bad... Ambition, Cunning and Resourcefulness, are not bad traits. It's how the books decided that Slytherin used these traits that I don't really like. (I got my info for the breakdown from HERE)

So I got Gryffindor... which I think is kinda funny being I went to University at the University of Guelph, who's Mascot is the Guelph Gryphons, and who's colours are Red, Black and Gold. Maybe U of G is just a Gryffindor sister school in disguise.

Found HERE
So now everyone should go to Pottermore and see what they are and if they are in the same house as me :). Go... Go Now! Comment below with what you got!

Now to finish my List:

Day 18: Daily Rituals.

1) Wake-up with kids and watch some cartoons.
2) Get ready and go to work.
3) Work (and play on the internets on my spare time)
4) Pepsi for Lunch
5) Posting my blog mid day (new Ritual but I'm trying to keep up with it)
6) Watching Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes with my 4 year old.
7) Relaxing, maybe drawing, when my kids are in bed.

I hope everyone is great.
Until Next time: Keep on Geekin' On.

Long Weekend/ Family Fun/ 2 Lists

This weekend was a long weekend... can't go wrong with a Family Fun day and Valentines on the same weekend. Not that I do anything for Valentine's Day for anyone other than my kids, but they enjoyed it.

Pic Found Here

After an emergency run on Valentine's for a second stuff Dachshund (cause my kids were fighting over the one I got) and breakfast, I actually managed to buy some awesome material for my daughter's DracuBecca Dress. If you don't know who that is there here's the rundown. Draculaura and Rebecca Steam from Monster High get fussed... hence the movie name Freaky Fusion. The oldest is having a Draculaura B-Day so I decided to make her a dress for it. It's turning out pretty awesome, just some finishing touches. Once done I'll post a pic :).

We also did some fun family things at the Guelph Civic Museum. Which made for a great Family Day.

Now other than that it was a busy weekend of Friends and Family and Events. So I'm behind again on Lists. I'm glad I did my weekend ones on Friday, so here's Monday and Tuesday for you. Also I am hoping to finish writing and send my new Penpal's Letter. YAY Letters.

My Lists aren't as pretty today.

1) Fun and interesting
2) Slightly obsessed with Marvel and Wil Wheaton
3) Extremely Proud of my kids.

5) Failing some days on the positivity, 'cause life can suck and it's hard!
6) A believer in more things mystic and spiritual than my friend sometimes realize.
7) Hard headed, especially if I have made a decision.
8) Wishy washy if I'm trying to choose head over heart.
9) Learning to embrace the things I love no matter what others say.
10) Trying to expand my friend groups to include other positive people with similar interests.
11) Strong willed and determined.
12) Not easily swayed.
13) Happy!

I think those 5 are some of the best. I have a whole book of quotes but sometimes you need to stick to a few simple ideas.

Something funny and a weekend of Lists

So I found this on Nerd Approved and it made me snarff good. :)

Spider-Man gets to work at Marvel:
Found Here
I also decided to be creative on my slow day at work and found a program online called Pic Monkey. I played with a bunch of the settings and decided to make my lists all PERDY today. I even completed my lists for Saturday and Sunday because I know my weekends are busy so I figured I'd get a head start!

Hope you like my pretty lists.

Have a great Geeky weekend... mine will be filled with Sewing and Friends :)

Until Monday.

Who I'm following... Day 12 of List.

It's Thursday... as much as I love Thursday's I'm looking forward to Friday tomorrow. I feel like Friday's are always sooo far away.

From Here

So to get over my Weekday hump I thought I'd start a list of Geeky Sites that I visit everyday... mostly things I read so that I can break the monotony of work and day to day life. (Also my sources of all things Geeky :P )

1st off is the IGGPPC (International Geek Girl Pen Pal Club), they are a lovely bunch of women and men who enjoy the idea of writing "REAL" letters to each other. I know, in an age of digital everything it's kinds nice to have something you can hold in your hand. I have recently joined and through Twitter and the site have found some amazing geeky friends.

My next daily stop is The Mary Sue. This is an amazing site that keeps me up to date on most things in the Geek community and beyond. They are good at warning you if something is going to have spoilers in the reviews, and great at have a female perspective to the community in general. I love everything there is about them.

Now we get to Nerd Approved. If you want the scoop on any products, collectibles, or just neat stuff in general here's where you can check it out. They also will post interesting Videos and articles. You can often here about things first from either the Mary Sue or Nerd Approved.

Fashionably Geek has a large array of Cosplayers, cool clothing and just some neat stuff that I wish I had the time to make or the money to buy. I'm in aww of all the Cosplayer's featured and hope that someday my Cosplay/Costuming skills may be up to their standards.

Well those are my usual sites I visit. There are probably a few more and in time I'm sure I'll share them as well. For now I'm trying to figure out how to make my daughter an outfit that looks like Pym's costume from the Next Avengers. (If you haven't seen it, it's a cute movie about the kids of the Avengers) I know not every Avenger fan will agree with the breakdown of who the parents are and stuff but who cares. My four year old loves it and from that has decided to know watch and read the Avengers Comic and Cartoon. So I think it's win win.
Source Here
Well now for my Day 12 list: Confidence
1) Art/ Photography.
2) Fashion
3) Accomplishing a Goal.
4) My kids
5) Being part of a Geeky Community.

I have had ups and down in Confidence over the years, but I feel like I'm back on track.

Until Next Time!

It's Wednesday (and not the Adams) ... and a list!

To start here's a little Wednesday for your Wednesday!
found here
I've always loved Wednesday Addams... can't go wrong with a self sure, slightly homicidal, little girl who knows that she wants and eschews pink! (My little girl is very into pink, but I think I may be on the right track for the rest).

I also wanted to share this:
found here
Hehehehehe.... Nerd Approved used the header "This Pretty Much Sums Up How Spider-Man Felt About His Return To Marvel". Hope it gave you a good giggle like it gave me!

So many Movies to be coming out... hopefully I'll get to see them all in theater!! If I do I'll definitely let you know how they were!

Here's my List for Day 11: Favourite Words!

1) BLUBBER (makes me giggle if you say it over and over again)
2) Awesome!
3) Amazing.
4) Yupperoo!
5) Sounds Good.
6) Anything random my kids say and anything I can add an exclamation mark too.

So until next time,
Keep on Geekin on.

Yay Marvel... and yet More Lists :P

Image from movieplot.com
I was/am very excited to hear today about Marvel's deal with Sony for Spiderman crossover! For years I have been spewing my belief that it's only a matter of time that Sony, and Fox and the rest of those who have the various Marvel Product, realize the immensity of the Marvel universe and figure out a way to JOIN the MCU while still retaining the product. AND SONY DID!!!

If you don't believe me read about it here on NERD APPROVED.

Now I'm just waiting for the X-Men... not that I think Fox will ever stop messing up my favourite Marvel Series, but I can still hope.

http://www.thegeektwins.com/2014/02/visual-guide-to-marvel-character-movie.html

Here is the updated Infographic of the Marvel Character movie Rights. If you had seen the original (also found HERE by Geek Twins) then you would have noticed originally there were a bunch of separated bubbles... but Marvel has acquired some characters back and is now working with the other companies creating a true Cinematic Universe (Other than Fox really... seriously casting 2 different Scarlet Witches and Quicksilvers in movies coming out within a year.... sigh).

Imagine if all the Marvel characters were back under Marvel control.... oh what a geeky world we would be!

Well, enough with my Marvel Universe Rant... to my list!

Day 10: Think I am good at!

1) Being a Mom!
2) Geeking out with the best of them.
3) Art... mostly drawing, but I'm working on Costume Creation.
4) Being overly blunt... yes I am that friend.
5) Not putting up with shit or rudeness.
6) Believing that I can make it through the worst situations (and I've lived through some crappy ones) if I keep going in a positive direction. "Things will work out"

I'm debating if I want to make these lists prettier... can anyone recommend a good program for that?? Something free preferably!

Keep on Geeking on!

Day 7 to 9 of Lists!

Well over the weekend I haven't had a chance to post much of anything... too busy with a makeup party with my 4 year old and family visiting.

Here's some pics of the kids after our makeup day... I could swear my little Rapunzel looks almost Amazon-like with her face makeup.

Well then, lets get to some lists :)

4) I will spend money for my kids over myself every time, with no shame.
5) Art has always been a part of my life, as well as Math... There is no shame in loving both.

2) Ridiculous amount of pay stubs because I forget to take them out.
3) Emergency diaper (for my 16 month old)
4) Usually a drink of some sort.

Yay Lists.... some of it I probably could write a novel on but I'm limiting myself!
Keep on Keeping On :)

A picture a week and 2 Days of Lists

So with joining IGGPPC I've been trying to get into the clubs lately. This allows me to A) start embracing my inner geek love and B) finds me a new outlet for getting my stuff out.

I've been trying to get costuming done for Fan Expo but with 2 kids under 4 it makes my time limited. This is a new way to start getting doing things without breaking into my family time!

So here's my Picture of the Week... this week's theme was Shadow:

Baby Groot Shadow.
I couldn't pass up taking of pic of the adorable shadow that Baby Groot made!

Now to the Lists:

Day 5: Fears

1) Not doing things right.
2) Not being able to provide for my kids.
3) Loosing myself in order to "make a living"

Day 6: Antidotes

1) Spending time with friends.
2) Snuggling my kids
3) Watching my 4 year old daughter get excited about Avengers.
4) Reading a good book
5) Watching a good movie.

I'm hoping to scan a new pic I've done for costuming this weekend, so stay tuned.

Until Next Time.

Lets do some more lists

LISTS!!!!!!!! Lists!!!!!!!!!! LISTS!!!!!!!

Where I got the pic: http://fromsarahwithjoy.blogspot.ca/2014/01/how-lists-might-be-enabling.html
So I decided I'd try and catch up on my 28 days of lists:

Day 1: Geeky Favourites

1) Cosplay (cause what adult doesn't want to dress up like superheros and run around in costume for a day... SERIOUSLY!)
2) Marvel, really I'm primarily and X-Men fan but I like all things marvel in general. Even the most awful of variations done into movies.
3) I have a doll collection... some angels but mostly things that are a little strange... goth dolls, fairies, I'm particularly in love with Pullip and Monster High/ Everafter High dolls, things like that... also quite a few toys (Nightmare before christmas, Groot), and NO my girls are not allowed to play with them, they have their own dolls LOL.
4) Laurell K Hamilton, my favouritest author in the world who I wish would come to Canada... but I digress.
5) Anime... I'm partial to the cuter ones, like Soul Eater and Chobits... but I'm flexible and haven't had time to really get into them as much as I'd like.
6) Anything Sci-Fi, and Fantasy related... who wouldn't want to fly through space on the back of a dragon fighting badguys with lazer swords...

Day 2: Who Inspires me

1) Wil Wheaton... cause he's Wil Wheaton!
2) Jessica Nigri
3) Laurell K Hamilton: heck she actually learned knife fighting to write her books.
4) Kato
5) Anyone who pushes people to do what they love and screw what society thinks!

Day 3: Things I would tell my Teen Self

1) Marks don't matter as much as you think.
2) Don't worry about careers as much as learning new things you love.
3) Embrace the Geek... don't let anyone make you feel like it's not right to be geeky, everyone is geeky they just don't always show it.
4) Don't put your stuff on hold for someone else to achieve what they want... YOU ARE IMPORTANT!
5) Don't limit yourself to a stigma... you can be good at art, math and anything else you want at the same time... Don't listen to those that say you can't be good at both!

There I think I caught myself up :)
Now to catch up on the Picture of the week challenge! WOOT!

Until Next Time

Doing Lists... for IGGPPC (starting on Day 4)

Oky so usually you start a Lists Challenge on Day 1 but I'm starting on 4 because I missed the first 3 days... if I get a chance I will post lists 1 to 3 at a later date!

Here is the list of Lists.... so for DAY 4 we have Geek girl powers:

1) The ability to love something cute and horrifying at the same time.
2) The ability to argue till I pass out about how much I dislike Halle Berry as Storm and feel the Iman should have played the character.
3) The power to let adaptations be adaptations without feeling like the whole world has crumbled.
4) Being a 33 year old woman with kids who can still wear and design costumes.

Here's a design of my current Cosplay I'm working on for Fan Expo Canada. There may be some things I may change in the actual costume versus the design, and I still haven't decided how I want to make the dwarf shrunken heads... so here's hoping it all comes together.

Until Next Time.

A New Blog and New Life.

WELCOME to all those joining me from Artsy You, and all new followers.

I have decided that starting fresh was the best way to get going with joining my online communities and starting to get involved within other communities who have similar interests to me. I like everything from Comics to anything Marvel Universe, from Board Games to Art. I currently have a slight obsession with Costuming and Cosplay and am starting to attempt at creating stuff for that. I also have been designing my own stuff.

I made shoes!

I had these shoes for years and started not really liking the colour anymore, so I made my own handy dandy comic book shoes with images from Comic Pages, Modge Podge and a Brush. (I am planning on sealing them in time. Once everything is sealed then I won't be so worried wearing paper shoes outside LOL).

So hopefully this will be a start of a new journey where I can share my progress and maybe make new friends who also enjoy all things Geeky.

Until next time.
