2 days and counting and today I am totally channeling my Peg + Cat... I'm "Totally Freaking Out". As all cosplayer's know nothing ever seems to get done in the time frame that you are planning to have it finished in. So instead of relaxing and packing and preparing the last few days you are scrambling around like a crazy person trying to get everything done.
A geeky blog by a mom of two geek girls in training. A little bit about nerdy/geeky things that I find interesting. From Marvel to Penpals. IGGLES to Anime. Dolls to Collectibles. You name, I'll probably talk about it at some point.

MONDAY... aaaaaaaaaaaarrgh!
Okay I know the title is a little excessive but I totally have had an insane weekend with prep (only 3 days away) and movie and a 2 year old's birthday party. What does that mean?

Top 5: RL Geeky Inspiration
So I open up the top 5 lists each week and some times I look at them and go "heck no" or "that's not relevant to me" but other times I'm like... OMG. That's an Awesome topic. I have sooo much to talk about with that. Well, this week was one of those. There are SO MANY amazingly awesome Geeky people (celebs and such) that totally inspire me. To the point that I'm worried (yet half expecting) to have to go over my top 5 limit. (Image: Tony Castro)

5 Positive Reasons to Cosplay
The first thing people always assume about cosplayers is that they are a huge nerd. Guess what? They
are probably right, but that doesn’t define the person’s entire being. I’m still extremely new to cosplay,
but I can already see the positive impact it has had on my life. My family and friends have been very
supportive in my interest in this hobby/lifestyle, and a lot of them have also commented what a
difference they have seen since I made the decision to start cosplaying. Today is the last day I will be
guest blogging for Sylvanfire. I thought I would leave you with five positive things that have been a result
of cosplay in my life.

Pirates and Legos and Who oh my!
So I'm going to admit that my posts may be a bit slack over the next 2 weeks. With Fan Expo next week and me moving this weekend, plus my daughter's 2nd birthday this weekend I have been CRAZY busy and to top it all off my allergies have been kicking my but! (I swear my nose is about to jump off and run down the street). With all that being said I am hoping to have something and to do some more direct posting over Fan Expo Weekend (which you can follow on my twitter profile @sylvanfire). (image: the Mary Sue)

A Book by it's Cover (Reblogged)
Everyone know the old saying “do not judge a book by it’s cover”, we
all use it. We use it to remind ourselves that people can be different
than what we judge them as, and we use it to make sure we try something
unexpected. As much as this can be true in the more general sense of the
term, today I want to discuss how we do (usually) end up judging the
book by it’s cover. Mainly, in the giant list of literary
possibilities, how do we finally choose that book. What makes us pick it
up, buy it and read it. (image: Creative Indie Covers)

Cosplay Prep: Creating Props
No, I'm not Cosplaying Minions but I am definitely in full costume creation mode being I only have 1.5 weeks to go until Fan Expo and I'm SO not ready. This is the cry of all cosplayers. We hope to have things done a week or two (or a month or two lol) early but we seldom manage it.
