Maniacal Monday! (AKA A Weekend Alone with the Kids)

It's MONDAY... yes, it's monday again. Sigh... the weekend never seems long enough. The past few weeks I've had a lot of one on one time with my kids... so here's a few things I've learned. (image: Affiliate 101)

We've all done it. Gone on vacation by ourselves with our kids, spent a weekend alone with them, whatever it was we either believed it was going to be AWESOME.... or dreaded it with all our life. I often jump back and forth between the two.

This some of the things we did to survive just us for a few days!

1) Go to the Movies.

We went to see 'The Secret Life of Pets' over the weekend and really really enjoyed it. My 5 year old is a little more sensitive so there were parts that she got really nervous but the almost 3 year old loved every minute of it. This is one that is highly recommended for everyone!

2) Have a late night (8pm) movie night.

We decided one night to get dressed in our PJ's and have a movie pyjama party! I have to say I love the Rogers On Demand because we can sometimes rent new releases (I miss blockbuster) and there are no late fees. We rented "Zootopia" that the older kid loved and the new younger one enjoyed once it got going. I am really thinking on making an Office Hopps Cosplay... like a person/animalish version of her.

3) Dance PARTY!

If all else fails there is always the dance party option. We have actually started learning Camp Songs so sing... which really comes in handy for walks to the park and getting ready for bed. Here are a few on the top list lately!

Pop See Koo has now because a regular part of our repertoir and there has been quite a few times were we will be doing something and one of us will go "Hey Daddy(or insert kids name here)!" It's lots of fun and easy enough that the littlest one loves it!

Our second favourite song is Peanut Butter in a Cup... again the littlest can sing it. What's awesome is starting it at a Park! You get so many kids joining in being most of them learn it in school.

Okay, so I know some of the things cost money... if you have no money the one thing we've noticed. There are a TON of free things around. Movie nights in the park... heck the park is a go to for us... even as Super Heroes!

You can't tell in the pic but they both have masks on as well... they were Superhero Barbie and Batman Raven (yes Raven as in Teen Titans)!

What are your go too's to keep from going insane with your kids?

Until next time.
Keep on, Geekin' on.
Angie
