Away We Go! (Also Known as Starting Things is Hard!)

So I am currently working on a few costumes for myself for Fan Expo (above you can see my Sith/Jedi versions of Power Puff girls). I am playing with foam armour building, sewing (of course) and a few other techniques to get things going.

As usual my struggle has always been with balancing life, money and family commitments. Being I'm done school for the year and taking a year off with family commitments before I decide if I want to return the following year, I've decided to jump head first into trying to work for myself.

This is not an easy thing! With my husband asking me to work in the evening (after being home with one or two of my kids all day, figuring out day activities, keeping the house going and everything) I am feeling really stressed for getting this really going.

Test Sewing

So I am going Sew-Crazy LOL. I have a bunch of random materials in the house and I think I'm going to start making things. You can't see stuff unless you make things!

I am also opening up availability for 2 more commissions for items due for Fan Expo. If you need something built or make or designed (I do initial illustrations and technical drawings as well, if you just need the design and have someone else who wants to sew it). I'm Back!!!

So currently I'm in the post schooling lull. I have completed my first year of fashion design and have learned a TON of stuff. If you haven't been following my Instagram here's some of my stuff I've worked on when I've been neglecting my blog...

I'm Still Alive: A Surviving College List.

Midterms are finally over.... yay! I'm proud to say I'm doing fairly well in my courses and have had very little sleep over the past few weeks. Of course my family was hit with a bug right when I was getting a ton of stuff done. So today, cause I haven't been around for a while, I thought I'd make a top 5 about surviving school. I MISS YOU!!!

OMG I've been so so busy with school that I haven't had a chance to breathe let alone write a regular post, but don't worry, I have not forgotten you!! I have a long list of things I would love to talk to you about (including Halloween and Dr. Strange) but I am really trying to focus on my studies so I can bring you cool and better stuff.

It's really strange not writing daily lately. It's been almost a year and a half where I have barely missed a day let alone a whole week, and I realized just how guilty it makes me feel. I'm not sure how many of you read my posts regularly, I'm also not sure what it is about my posts that you like. I would love some feedback if you have a few minutes (just a comment would be awesome) as to what you love to hear about and what you want more of.

This week I'm going on a school trip to buy fabric for my own designed skirt (isn't that cool) and I'm still not sure which skirt design I want to make real. It's so strange learning all these industries and stuff... and I'm hoping you are willing to keep checking back with me.

So I may be a little MIA over the next little bit but I'm going to really try and kick my own but in gear to post a little more regularly again (because you are all awesome and I have a lot of fun writing this).

Amazing Toys Not For Your Kids

Lately on Thursday's I've been doing Funko collections but I thought I'd change things up today. I love toys (as most of you know) but I have to admit there are some lines that are just so amazing they can no longer be called toys... usually called "collectibles" or "figurines".
